read all the material available on their
website, as it is easy to make a wrong
judgment whether a service is the right one
for you....Unfortunately, Australia has one of
the highest charges for internet service in the
World, with a lot of limited data
allowance......

Questions you must be able to answer

Are there any initial "installation"
charges and how much?

Some force you to buy THEIR MODEMS +, you
should be able to use your equipment if you
already have an ADSL2 modem and configure it
with the help of their service online help.

What are the variety of contracts,
and how do they effect the pricing, from NO
CONTRACT TO 24 Months.....What if you want
to terminate a contract?...or change a
PLAN....

Peak times/off Peak information for
different plans, make sure you know the
times of OFF PEAK as different companies use
different times.

Most companies if not all now drop your
download speed if you reach your quota for
the month but offer the option for a DATA
BLOCK to keep the speed up

Read all fine print...remember that some
companies accentuate the positives and fine
print the negatives or use a faded text,
sometimes leaving the most undesirable items
to the end of the text or put them in a place
that is a bit harder to find....If they use
too many of these gimmicks, perhaps better
to look elsewhere as the company would rate
LOW IN transparency of service.

...If A service is cheaper it might be for a
reason (poor service)...investigate...you
might even like to phone them as this is a
fair indication of service, more so hit the
service button when prompted rather than the
sales, if you are left listening to music
for more than 15 mins, perhaps it might be
better look elsewhere.

How long has the company been in
service?...quite often smaller companies
disappear and are taken over by others.

Get an idea about what does a GIGABYTE MEAN
in terms of pages, pictures, videos and
films.....and add up roughly your possible
usage on a monthly basis, and then select
the PLAN that seems to come close to your
expected usage.
